School District of Philadelphia’s 2026 Summer Programs
I am pleased to announce that the School District of Philadelphia’s 2026 Summer Programs website is now live. Please visit here to explore our wide range of program offerings!
Our summer programs provide fun and safe environments for students to maintain and advance their education. The comprehensive programming offers options for School District of Philadelphia students of all ages – from enrichment-based learning to summer employment opportunities for high schoolers. This year, we have an exciting new program called Arts/Dance, in addition to ongoing programs like the Career and Technical Education Summer Camp. In collaboration with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Children and Families, we also offer the Summer Achievers program. To learn more about all programs available this summer, please visit the summer programs website here.
All current District students, including those entering kindergarten in the fall, are eligible and encouraged to access the website and learn more about summer programs available. Seats are limited, and registration does not guarantee enrollment. Please keep in mind that registration for most programs opens on April 6th, and will continue on a rolling basis until full. Some programs are invite-only, so registration will not be an option. Families and students will be notified about their enrollment status by mid-June. Please review program-specific information here.
Summer programming is one of the ways that the District is fulfilling its commitment to prepare our children to imagine and realize any future they desire. For program details and contact information, please check the Summer Programs website.
The University of Delaware Summer Math Modeling Program is a free, nonresidential, five-day program for rising juniors and seniors in high school interested in math modeling. Participating students will get the opportunity to work with UD graduate students and attend guest lectures by UD professors. By working in teams to solve problems using mathematical modeling, participants will learn how it can be applied to solve real-world problems. Participants will earn a stipend of $600 upon completion of the program.
The Glassman Penn Scholars Program is a newly established, five-week summer program hosted by the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. Designed for rising high school seniors from Philadelphia schools with strong academic interest in STEM, the program provides students with early exposure to university-level coursework, research, and mentorship in a rigorous academic environment.
As a pilot initiative, the Glassman Penn Scholars Program brings together Penn Engineering faculty, staff, experienced high school educators, and graduate mentors to support a small, highly motivated cohort of students. In addition to advanced instruction in areas such as mathematics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and physics, students will engage in original research projects culminating in a formal symposium. The program also includes structured college and workforce readiness programming to help students prepare for postsecondary pathways.
The application for the Glassman Penn Scholars Program is now live, and we would greatly appreciate your assistance in sharing this opportunity with eligible students, families, counselors, and school communities within your district. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS 3/31/2026
Program details, eligibility information, and the application can be found on the website and the flyer.
