A warm welcome to the Woodhead Primary School and Nursery Class website! It has been devised to provide a flavour of our school and we hope you find the information useful.

Our team work closely together to ensure your child has a positive, happy experience of school life and we are keen to work in partnership with our families to strengthen this experience further. We have high expectations and work hard to ensure pupils are supported and challenged to reach their potential.

Our school values are at the heart of our day-to-day work and we encourage the ‘Woodhead Way’ in classrooms and around the school.

At Woodhead, our children benefit from a rich curriculum based on the principles of a Curriculum for Excellence which enables all learners to become successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens. 

Ensuring key transitions - Nursery to P1, stage to stage and P7 to S1- are well-supported is a priority and our team work collaboratively within school and with colleagues in other schools to share information and support children to be ready to 'move on'. 

Throughout the school year, we have many opportunities for parents, carers, families and community partners to come into school to share learning and work together. We have a Parent Council and PTA who work so hard to support us in school, providing extra opportunities for your child. Please get in touch if you would like to come in for a visit or if you are interested in joining our Parent Council and PTA.
