On Tuesday 4th March, we were delighted to host our Stay and Play Event, welcoming families into our setting to celebrate and share the children’s learning around Sustainability.
The hall was transformed into a vibrant showcase of the children’s artwork, all inspired by caring for our planet. Families also had the opportunity to visit a stall run by Climate Action Strathaven, which provided valuable information and ideas on how we can all make more sustainable choices.
We were pleased to welcome members of the SLC Youth Forum, who spoke to the children about the important work they do to raise awareness of climate change and how young people can make a positive difference.
A popular feature of the event was our Swap Shop, where families could exchange clothes, books, and toys, encouraging reuse and reducing waste. We also had our Family Learning Robot Challenge on display, highlighting the children’s problem-solving skills and their engagement with sustainability and technology through learning at home with their families.
To further showcase the children’s experiences, a Sustainability and Forest School Padlet was available for parents to explore, offering a snapshot of the learning taking place both indoors and outdoors.
The event was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our partnership with families while celebrating the children’s enthusiasm and commitment to sustainability.
