As you may be aware, Google Classroom is currently being used by some departments within the school. This allows teachers to share announcements and resources, ask questions and issue work electronically. We have recently successfully launched a feature of Google Classroom, known as Guardian Email Summaries. This has allowed us to send parents who have signed-up a weekly text-based email highlighting progress in Google Classroom. This does not give guardians direct access to the Classroom(s) their child is part of, or the facility to reply directly to teachers. Normal channels of communication should continue to be used.
If you sign up, you will receive one email every Friday (if you choose to accept our invitation) with a summary of the announcements, questions and homework that your child has received from their teachers. Missing work that has not been completed will be highlighted. Homework will be issued electronically via Google Classroom and although some of this may be completed online, other pieces of work will continue to be jotter or paper-based. Coupled with the new Homework diaries, we hope these regular email updates will give you more of an insight into what your child is currently learning and give you the opportunity to have conversations about both class work and homework.

HELP: Accepting an Invite to Google Guardian Email Summaries
The invite could be in either your normal mailbox or your junk inbox. Invitations are valid for 120 days. You will here be given the option to confirm this is the email you want to accept invitations to or change it.
If you get to this step and you are not using a Google email address to receive email summaries, you are finished. Do not create or sign into a different Google Account as emails will be sent to this email. The downside is you will only be able to receive emails on a weekly basis and not change the frequency to daily.
Decide whether you want to receive summaries on a weekly or daily basis. This setting can be changed further down the line by clicking change settings at the bottom of a received email summary.
