In the Atlas Skills unit of work pupils will develop their geographical enquiry and mapping skills which will support their wider learning throughout the BGE. 

They will look at the following: 

• Use of the Content and Index Pages 

• Latitude & Longitude 

• Reading & Interpreting Physical Maps for both the world and Scotland

• Reading & Interpreting Political Maps for both the world and Scotland

In the Brazil unit of work pupils will develop as global citizens, not only discussing Brazil's geographical diversity and culture but delve deep into the heart of our Amazon Rainforest. Here, they will about one of our world's most important ecosystems and the critical need to protect it. 

They will look at the following: 

• Brazil's Climate 

• Climate Graphs 

• Structure of the Rainforest

• Plant & Animal Adaptations 

• Causes, Impacts & Management of Deforestation

In the Climate change unit pupils will learn about how climate change affects our world and the importance in everyone's role in protecting it. Further, we will study the themes of global citizenship and climate justice. 

They will look at the following: 

• The Greenhouse Effect

• Causes and Impacts of Climate Change 

• Carbon Footprint

• Climate Justice 

• Managing Climate Change
