During the Scotland visit, we all took part in an Art Therapy workshop delivered by The Teapot Trust. We learned about some of the theory behind using art as a tool for managing stress and anxiety as well as encouraging self-expression.
We also learned that The Teapot Trust provide art therapy and creative wellbeing work with a range of children and young people to support families and their needs, including working in hospitals, mental health facilities, community venues and online. We thought this was really interesting as our Erasmus+ project is about promoting and enhancing health and wellbeing in our communities in both Scotland and Spain, and we thought about ways we could use what we learned in our project later on.
Later on in the year, we wanted to run an art therapy workshop with some s1 pupils so we organised a time with the art & design department to see what would be best. Below are some pictures of our workshop! The s1 pupils seemed to enjoy it and we had a great time working with them too!
