On the Homepage you will find the updates about what is currently happening in Lesmahagow High School to remove barriers to education and close the attainment gap. You can click the links below for more specific information relating to equity interventions and cost of the school day.

Pupil Equity at LHS

At Lesmahagow High School we are committed to removing all barriers to education. Equity is at the heart of everything we do at Lesmahagow High School and is embedded in our core values along with respect, honesty, ambition, and resilience. This site is the latest support we are offering our families. Here you will find:

Cost of the School Day

Uniforms, trips, school lunches, PE kits, pencils and pens, and dress down days, the cost of education can sometimes feel overwhelming. When children and young people can’t take part in opportunities because of cost, they miss out and feel excluded, and it is harder for them to learn, achieve and be happy at school.

LHS Pre-Loved Hub

As part of our commitment to sustainability and to help remove barriers to education, we now have our "Pre-Loved Hub". This is a variety of uniform items available for all pupils.

Mrs McCallum will be available in B107 Friday interval for all your uniform needs.

Pupil Voice

To ensure that pupils are at the centre of any decisions regarding Pupil Equity, we created the role of Captain of Equity and Inclusion. The Captain is part of the wider pupil leadership team. This means that pupils have a peer they can speak to about any issues related to equity and inclusion and can feel confident that their voice will be heard.

Sirens for Success

Through Netball Scotland, 20 S3 girls are currently taking part in the Sirens programme. Sirens for Success is a 6-week programme delivered by a Sirens for Success Ambassador. Each school will receive a weekly session which will include an interactive educational module and practical session. The educational modules that are covered within the 6 weeks are: Alcohol, Smoking, Resilience, Body Confidence, Exercise and Healthy Eating. At the end of the block, the girls are invited to participate in a Sirens for Success Festival.

We are extremely grateful to all members of our school community who took part in our participatory budget consultation. The voting has now closed and we are busy planning some exciting new projects based on the results.
