Host a Global Outreach Student Next Year

Skutt Catholic has partnered with Global Outreach for many years, welcoming faith-filled students from Central and Eastern Europe into our classrooms and our community. This Catholic exchange program places carefully selected students from countries like Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary, and Ukraine with host families for the academic year. If you've ever met one of our GO students, you know what a gift they are to our school.

We are currently looking for host families for next school year. As a host family, you would provide room and board and welcome a student into your daily family life. Global Outreach stays in close contact with both students and families throughout the year, so you are never on your own.

This is a wonderful opportunity to live out the Catholic call to welcome the stranger, share your faith and family with a young person from across the world, and give your own children a front-row seat to a broader global perspective.

Congratulations to Our Visual Arts Students

We are proud to share that several Skutt Catholic students earned awards in the 2026 Scholastic Art Competition, the nation's longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers, founded in 1923. Students submit their best work for evaluation by art professionals at the state level, with Gold Award winners advancing to national competition.

An awards ceremony for Nebraska winners will be held Saturday, March 28 at 12:15 p.m. at the OPS Teacher Administration Building (former Tech High School), 3215 Cuming Street. All winning work will also be on display there during regular business hours, in the hallways on floors 2-5.

Driving with Integrity: A Jungle Driving School Partnership

At Skutt Catholic, we teach our students to lead with integrity and respect. Jungle Driving School shares these values, training our teens to be responsible, confident drivers. Through our community partnership, Jungle Driving School will donate $50 back to Skutt Catholic for every student who enrolls. It’s a great opportunity to prioritize your teen’s safety on the road while supporting our school.  To participate, simply use the code SKUTT during online enrollment. Alumni Ambassador Scholarships for Juniors

Current juniors are eligible for a $500 scholarship for college. Recipients will serve as Class of 2027 ambassadors for Skutt Catholic during their senior year and as class representatives following graduation. Friendship challenges are a normal part of adolescence, but knowing how to support your teen through them makes all the difference. OnToCollege Reminder (ACT Test Prep)

Just a quick reminder that every Skutt Catholic student has free access to OnToCollege's full test prep platform, a resource worth $299 if purchased on your own. Students can log in anytime at ontocollege.com using their school email and password. The platform covers ACT and SAT prep with practice tests, video lessons, quizzes, and test-taking strategies. If your student hasn't checked it out yet, encourage them to log in and click around. And if they want a quick walkthrough of what's available, they can stop by my office anytime.

Weekly Adoration

We are still looking for parents to sign up as regular adorers in our chapel at the following times or to be on the sub list. Please email Christine French (christinefrench@skuttcatholic.com) to sign up or get more information. Adoration will run daily from November to May when we have school:

• Mondays - over lunchtime  (need help 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)

• Tuesdays - 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

• Wednesdays - 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. 

• Thursdays - 3 - 4 p.m. (could use a second parent)
