ACTIVITIES + ATHLETICS CALENDAR
We are looking forward to celebrating our underclassmen at next week's Honors Assemblies, where students will be recognized for Department Awards, First Semester Honor Roll, the Outstanding Christian Service Award, and a handful of additional honors including select scholarships, art recognitions, and science awards. Personal invitations have already been sent to families of students receiving recognition. As a reminder, not every student will be honored at this particular assembly, and that is simply the nature of how these specific awards are structured. Every one of our students contributes to the life of Skutt Catholic in ways that matter, and their gifts and growth are seen and valued by us every day.
Finals begin Tuesday, May 19, which means our underclassmen have just over a week to lock in and finish the year well. These last days matter. Attendance, attention, and effort right now shape not only final grades but also the momentum students carry into next year. If your student is feeling behind or unsure how to prepare, please encourage them to reach out to their teachers this week. Our faculty would much rather help a student get on track now than try to untangle things in the final hours of the semester.
A reminder on our finals attendance policy: all students are required to attend every final exam period, including periods where they have a study hall. The only exception is for students with an 8th period study hall, since that is the last exam on the last day and they have no further exams to prepare for. If your student has 8th period study hall and you wish to excuse them, please call the main office that morning. We are unable to make any other exceptions to this policy.

Our partners at Catholic Charities of Omaha have shared their May Mental Health Memo, focused this month on balancing screen time to support emotional well-being. The memo offers practical strategies for setting healthy limits, modeling good habits, and creating screen-free family time. Both English and Spanish versions are available HERE.
We are still looking for parents to sign up as regular adorers in our chapel at the following times or to be on the sub list. Please email Christine French (christinefrench@skuttcatholic.com) to sign up or get more information. Adoration will run daily from November to May when we have school:

Wednesdays - 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
Thursdays - 3 - 4 p.m. (could use a second parent)
Friday - over lunchtime
At Skutt Catholic, we teach our students to lead with integrity and respect. Jungle Driving School shares these values, training our teens to be responsible, confident drivers. Through our community partnership, Jungle Driving School will donate $50 back to Skutt Catholic for every student who enrolls. It’s a great opportunity to prioritize your teen’s safety on the road while supporting our school. To participate, simply use the code SKUTT during online enrollment. Call 402-347-4850 with any questions.
Visit www.skyhawkcamps.com to register! Returning 10th,11th,12th graders do not need to register online.
AP Exams Starting May 4th
AP exams start Monday, May 4th. The College Board has made all exams digital to some degree, which means exam takers must bring a fully charged iPad (and charging cord as needed). It is the student's responsibility to know whether or not their exam is “Hybrid Digital” (combined digital and paper exam) or “Fully Digital” (100% digital exam) as fully digital exams require students to bring a keyboard for their iPad. Without this keyboard, students CANNOT take a fully digital AP exam. Students may need to purchase a keyboard or borrow one from a friend. Here is an example of an acceptable keyboard, but any bluetooth keyboard that is iPad/iOS compatible should work: Keyboard Example. See Mr. Schumacher in person with any concerns.
Seniors: Final High School Transcripts
After the end of the school year, senior transcripts will be finalized and sent to the college listed as "enrolling" in their Scoir account. The counseling office expects transcripts to be sent on or before June 5th. Graduating seniors may begin receiving emails from their chosen college or university asking for these transcripts. Skutt Catholic will send this important information as soon as it is ready, and there is no additional action students need to take. If a student's college decision changes after the end of the year, they should reach out to their counselor to ensure transcripts are sent to the correct institution. Additionally, it is a good idea for all seniors to save a copy of their current unofficial transcript to their personal files (i.e. a non-Skutt Catholic email) for their own records.
