NoodleTools is a tool that helps you to create and manage citations for a works cited page, a bibliography or an annotated bibliography. Follow the instructions in the YouTube video to set up your account and create your first project. Some things to remember: Sign up for NoodleTools Lite, Use your school user id and password, as well as your school e-mail address when setting things up.Using NoodleTools Lite to Enter Citations from Databases
If you use articles from a database, the citations may already be available to you so that you can import them or copy and paste them into NoodleTools Lite. This video shows the steps for doing this. One point, however. When choosing the format to import your citation manually, it does matter what type of article you choose. Look at where the article was originally published. If it was originally published in a book, choose book. If it was originally published in a magazine, choose magazine. The information at the top of the article should tell you this. If you are using a book for research, it is easy to create a citation for your Works Cited page. In NoodleTools, many book citations can be imported by ISBN. Others can be easily manually imported. Learn how here.Manually Inputting Citation Information for Websites
Unlike online databases, most other sources do not publish the citation for you. Luckily, NoodleTools gives you a form in which you can input the critical pieces of information to create a correctly formatted citation. The example given in this video is a website where the important information is listed at the bottom of the webpage. Unfortunately, most of the time, you will not find it listed so tidily. Instead, you will have to scan the webpage to find the proper information or have the book in hand so you can easily locate the needed information.Exporting Citations to a Works Cited Page
Now that all of your citations have been inputted, you will be able to export that information into a correctly formatted Works Cited page/bibliography. Before you do this, remember that you can edit the citations to include your annotations so that is all formatted correctly.
