The School Based Evaluation Team determines student eligibility based on formal evaluations and a review of current academic and behavioral performance. If the student is determined eligible for specialized services, an educational and behavioral program is established to meet the student’s individual needs. A continuum of services is provided to address education and behavioral needs. Eligibility for the following courses is determined by the Evaluation Team.
This class meets the unique needs of students by providing explicit instruction for their academic, functional and transition needs in a small group setting. The specialized instruction for this class is focused on skill remediation and strategies to be successful and independent in their general education classes.

This program is specific to special education students who qualify for alternate assessment. Its focus is on developing and improving independence in the areas of functional academics, vocational, communication, and daily living skills. The curriculum is individualized to help students learn career readiness skills, gain community and employment experience and increase their activities of daily living.

This course helps students develop the functional literacy necessary to increase student independence by gaining an understanding of informational, and recreational text and communicating ideas clearly. Functional math skills will focus on an understanding of numbers and operations to solve real world problems.

When students are unable to access the general setting, the work is completed in a smaller group with the support of a special education teacher.
