Construction Technology CTE
In collaboration with the North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund (NASCTF)
Our Construction Technology CTE provides students with classroom instruction and hands-on experiences in various aspects of the construction industry. Students will gain knowledge and apply it to the area of construction technology & carpentry. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, career and college readiness, career exploration and construction competencies.
CTE Course Sequence
Required Classes:
Year 1 - Carpentry 1 & 2
Year 2 - Carpentry/Construction 3 & 4
Year 3 - Carpentry/Construction 5 & 6
(These classes include work-based learning experiences)
Additional Classes:
Computer Aided Drafting 1 & 2 (Grades 9-12)
House Design 1 & 2 (Grades 9-12)
PLTW Intro. to Engineering (Grades 9-12)
PLTW Principles of Engineering (Grades 10-12)
CTE Opportunities
Enrolled students can participate in the Carpenters Training Fund (NASCTF) Apprenticeship Program at Level 1, with an opportunity to be evaluated for upgrade to level 2 during a 1 week safety and skills training.
Students also have the opportunity for entry into Carpenters Union Workforce as a member once the application process is completed, which includes student attending a 1.5 hr. information session, favorable interview, passing of a drug test, and the 1 week skills assessment and safety of apprenticeship training.
Students are required to earn OSHA 10 certification, as well as earn Level 1, 2, and 3 Residential NASCTF certification.
