Family Maths Challenge

Each week I will include a maths problem for you to solve.

If you think you can solve it, with a bit of help from your family, email me the answer here with your name and class in the subject line, principal@skormond.catholic.edu.au

Each week at assembly and in the Newsletter I will announce the family who solved the problem correctly and the quickest. Good Luck!

Week 8 winners Nselel Family

Ben has a box with a number in it that is greater than 7.

Moana has a box with a number in it that is less than 9.

Tom has a box with a number in it that is greater than 5.

They all have the same number. What is it?

P/1/2N

This week in P/1/2N, students have been creating ‘Silly Sentences’, using sentence strips. Students have been building sentences, making sure to choose a capital letter for the start of each sentence and a full stop to end each sentence. Each student read their sentence/s aloud, wrote them into their writing books and some began to type them out on chromebooks. Everyone enjoyed this literacy activity and some students went on to create some of their own silly sentences.

3/4H

This week we are trying to finish many units of work and complete assessments. We are preparing for our expo next week and our Holy Week liturgies to remember the last week of Jesus’ life and the Resurrection of our Lord. We look forward to seeing our families in our class rooms next week.

5/6P

As the term nears an end, the year 5/6's have been working hard to complete their Democracy projects and Narratives. I have seen some fabulous descriptive writing and the students have really enjoyed having a choice in their stories. All will be on display at our Learning Expo on Tuesday.
