If your application was accepted in the Spring term, we use the summer term to provide initial steps to best prepare for September. Keep an eye out for the following:

early access to book and attend your Skills Leader Training Day
Two online training days (9am - 2.30pm) in the early Autumn and Spring term. Multiple dates available.

Termly, 1-hour video calls with your Education Associate.

What?
Develop a bespoke, manageable plan for how your school or college would like to teach the essential skills
Set tailored goals for the term ahead
Decide what content is best for your teacher training, and which staff will attend
Plan the use of flexible support time to achieve your goals
How? Video call, 1 hour, booked by you each term
Teacher Training Sessions x 2
Twilight or daytime training sessions for your teachers and/or support staff, tailored to suit your context.
Who attends? Bespoke. This may be whole school or specific staff or faculty members.
What?
The training content is tailored to meet your needs. We'll agree what will be covered with you in your Planning Meeting
No two trainings are the same. Upskilling might include strategies for modelling essential skills, resource walk-throughs, or mapping skills into curriculum planning
How? Online via Zoom. 1 hour slot. Booked any time to suit you in the Autumn and Spring term.
PREMIUM ELEMENTS (costs associated)
Challenge Days
Fully resourced, students to apply all 8 essential skills, practical challenge, versions for all phases and settings.
Extended Projects
10-hour projects, linked to a big question, students learn 3 focus skills, best for EYFS-KS2 and specialist settings.
Virtual Trips
Fully resourced, practical challenge, includes live facilitated feedback session, best for KS2+.
Virtual Work Experience Modules
Online activities, linking sectors to essential skills, students can work independently, best for KS3+.

Be in regular communication with your dedicated Education Associate
Attend x2 Skills Leader Training Days
Develop and review your priorities during termly Planning Meetings with your Education Associate
Organise the delivery of training (run by your Education Associate) and support colleagues in the day to day realisation of your strategy
Network with other Skills Leaders, via our communities of practice and conference day
Work towards recognition via a Skills Builder Award
