Your programme will officially start in July, August or September with your Skills Leader Training Day.
Here are a few simple actions that you can do before then in order to prepare for the programme.
STEP 1: Discuss with Senior Leadership the notes below, ideally prior to the Autumn term
Skills Leader Training Days: who can authorise time, off timetable, for you to attend the 2 online Skills Leader Training Days (one in Autumn 1, one in Spring 1)?
Teacher Trainings: You will need 2 x 1-hour CPD slots for your Teacher Trainings (one in Autumn and one in Spring). Which member of staff can approve these? Can you reserve slots in your school calendar now?
Teaching the skills: Is there a regular slot to explicitly teach essential skills? E.g. a 15-20 minute weekly/ fortnightly slot. This might be (though not restricted to) during PSHE, registration/form time, Preparation for Adulthood, etc.
STEP 2: Tell your teachers
Share this one-page letter with your colleagues to give them an idea of who we are and what to expect. (Please note: detailed information and training comes during Teacher Training in Autumn term.)
STEP 3: Tell your community
Celebrate joining the Skills Builder Partnership by putting your member's badge on your website. (Please hyperlink it to skillsbuilder.uk)
Download the Educators Toolkit introducing Universal Framework 2.0.
Universal Framework 2.0 (UF2.0) is a transformational tool for educators and learners to measure and build essential skills.
UF2.0 builds off the work of more than 900 organisations in twenty countries to create a shared language and model for building essential skills that can be used by educators anywhere.
It can be effectively used from the youngest learners, through school and college and into the workplace. It is successfully used in many specialist settings too.

Your principal contact will be one of our team of Education Associates - qualified teachers who will work with you on your programme. They will be in touch in September to introduce themselves.
This person will support your programme across the year, including running your Planning Meetings to help you set goals in line with your current priorities. They will be your point of contact for any queries you may have.
Soon, you will be invited to book onto your Skills Leader Training Day. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact our Director of Education.
