In the 1950s, we see the rise of Rock'n' Roll, influenced a lot by the music of Elvis Presley, although his msuic was stolen by other black musicians of the time. In the 1960s, The Beatles made a full feature length film called "A Hard Day's Night", featuring all of their own music. In 1966, Bob Dyland created one of the first ever televised music videos "Subterranean Homesick Blues", and since then had become a cult classic. In the 1970s we see the improvement in technology such as green screen, meaning that music videos become become better and more dramatised. In 1979, Michael Jackson released his music video for "dont stop 'til you get enough", which changed the face of the music video indutsry forever. Through the 1980s, Jackson continued to make videos like this using CGI, and in this period we see producers start to use Hollywood budget money on videos. In 1981, MTV started, which was very significant and impacted music videos forever; their main audience was young adults, and the hosts were called VJs (video-jockies).
