CAS is a non-graded, personal, yet essential component of the Ib Program. Full diploma students are required to dedicate and fulfill extracurricular activities that apply to the core elements of CAS. Upon completion of these various activities, candidates are required to catalog and annotate their experiences in a document form. Students are also required to create and participate in a CAS Project. A CAS project is a collaborative, well-considered series of sequential CAS experiences, engaging students in one or more of the CAS strands of creativity, activity, and service.
