"She said 'It is cool" and showed me the video of her solar-powered boat in water. It is at this moment she has changed her desired career. She wants to be a physicist!"
"One of her first comments was about all the girls and how fun it was to spend the whole time on science."
"She talked a lot about electricity, solar power, hydrogen experiments, engineering careers, and having fun."
"She was very excited and started talking the minute we got into the car. She enjoyed meeting other girls of like mind and having the opportunity to learn first hand."
"It was fun today, I am excited to go back tomorrow!"
"She enjoyed building cars and boats using solar panels."
"She said she had so much fun."
Well done! The Physics Girls Camp was a hit!
Giselle loved it and wished it lasted two (2) weeks instead of three (3) days! I remember she asked me, What do engineers do? and she told me of your comment. You have given this girl a huge encouragement to seek options that may not have occurred to us before. During this early adolescent period of life, the comments that are made by authority figures can alter a child's perceptions of herself. Thank you for this extremely positive experience!

Thank you for sending the links, wonderful watching all the fun the girls had, l have proudly sent it to all my relatives. When my daughter turned ten, all she wanted for gift was a cake mixer, her aunt bought it for her, she was a very happy girl, and my kitchen was a mess everyday; she can bake very well for her age. We, her teachers and parents noticed she is good in the science subjects, but have no interest in science itself. But this camp, might have changed that, when she got home on the first day, she couldn't stop talking about it, and how there is such a thing as a Food Scientists. So thank you very much for providing this great opportunity for my daughter.

My daughter liked the camp. She was a little nervous the first day, but the fun activities helped overcome her fear. She has renewed interest in science!

I wanted to let you know how much our family appreciated our daughter being given the opportunity to participate in this event. Any chance that a young student is provided to get deeper into math and science I feel should be taken advantage of. Many are intimidated by the words themselves but when given an opportunity, such as this, have their eyes opened to what they can do.
The hands on, practical, introduction to science made it fun and interesting. Participating in this event has open new conversations between us about what our daughter's future might be.

I want to take this time to thank you for providing an enrichment opportunity for middle school aged girls. We were warmly welcomed to the campus. The Physics Camp allowed my daughter to venture beyond, her comfort zone. Not only did she make new friends, but she was able to conduct hands-on physics experiments. Daily, she excitedly would explain what she did and was able to explain how and why, regarding the experiments. Again, thank you for providing this wonderful opportunity, to enrich the minds of middle school girls.

I think that the girl’s camp this year was one of the best that we had... not just because of how fun and engaged the campers were this year to learn physics, but also because of how well the camp impacted me. It is because of this summer’s girl’s camp that I recalled why I love physics... helped me realize why I wanted to become a physicist in the first place.
- Oberon Wackwitz (Class of 2018)
“The camp showed me that I am getting something out of my college education, and I actually am learning things in classes, it isn’t just leaving when the class is over. It was a very rewarding experience as well, being able to teach younger kids and watch their excitement and curiosity flourish each day. I felt like I was making a difference…”
- Brett Conti (Class of 2020)
“I found that it (the camp) tested my understanding and challenged me in different ways as opposed to old-fashioned course-work and examinations."
- Karla Miletic (Class of 2020)
“ It was inspiring to see the girls light up when understanding a concept, and it challenged me to grow in my knowledge in such a way that it was not enough to understand these concepts, but that I also needed to be able to explain them on a middle school level. It was a rewarding experience. "
- Gianna Calligy (Class of 2023)
“Being a counselor for the campers truly motivated me to continue spreading the joy of physics to others."
