Registration Prep

Tasks 1-3 must be completed in the New Hawk's Portal. Check the To-Do list for all tasks.

1. Confirm or change your major. 

2. Take the Math Placement test. Once your placement is available you can view it on your DegreeWorks.

3. Select your language and take the Language Placement exam (if applicable). Once your placement is available you can view it on your DegreeWorks. 

   • If English is not your native language or if you have native-level skills in multiple languages, you may request an exemption to the CCC Language requirement through the Language Placement Survey. If you have any further questions, please contact the Language & Linguistics Department at MCLanguages@sju.edu.

   • If you have a non-native language waiver, you will instead take one CCC Mission Global Citizenship course. (This substitute course cannot double dip with other CCC requirements, including the Mission Overlay requirement.) 

4. If you completed college level courses while in high school, complete this form to have them considered for transfer. These credits may help inform the courses you take in your first year. Send the official transcript directly from the institution where the courses were taken to admit@sju.edu. 

5. If you completed Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate exams, send official score reports to SJU ASAP so that they can be considered for transfer. These credits may help inform the courses you take in your first year.

6. Consider participating in the First Year Student Service-Learning Program. Registration for a First-Year Service-Learning course is like registering for any other course with the added benefit of a spring sequence. In this year-long experience, Service-Learning classes become a close community of students through their shared service experiences and in-class discussions. Three hours can change your life! 7. Complete all steps on the Building Your Schedule page.

8. If you are part of one of the following student populations: Honors Program, NCAA Athletics, or Air Force ROTC, see below for the additional tasks you will need to complete.
