Students may make changes to their schedule during the Add-Drop Period (Monday, August 18th at 9 am through Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 at 11:59 pm).
Obtain your PIN to access your registration in the Self-Service Course Registration System in the Nest.
Contact your faculty advisor at the start of Add/Drop to discuss your schedule and obtain your PIN. If you are unable to reach your faculty advisor, contact the chair of your department for assistance.
Seats in courses may be limited. Check the course schedule to confirm a course has an open seat and is not restricted before attempting to add/drop. Click the course title to see course details including restrictions and attributes. Check the "Conditional Add/Drop" box before hitting submit on any changes to your schedule.
See the FAQs below and follow the instructions as needed if you plan to make any changes to your schedule, major, language, or need help sending any remaining materials to SJU.
If you want to make a change to your schedule during Add/Drop in August, please contact your faculty advisor to discuss the change and obtain your registration PIN to access the self-service registration area on the Nest.
What is a registration PIN? Watch this video for a brief overview.
How do I contact my faculty advisor? Watch this video (or follow the instructions below) for a brief overview.
Log into The Nest.
Click on the “Students” tab in the top navigation.
Click on the “Access Student Profile” link in the “Advising Resources” block.
Your advisor and a link to their contact information can be found in your profile.
When access to your fall registration re-opens in August some courses may offer the option to join a waitlist for a seat. View the Video Tutorial: Joining a Waitlist for step-by-step instructions on how to add yourself to a waitlist for a course.
Joining a waitlist does not guarantee you a seat in the course. Do not drop another course to add yourself to a waitlist.
Seats in laboratories are extremely limited. Introductory science courses like BIO 101/L and CHM 120/L have very limited availability for changes to lab times.
If you must change your lab time, please use extreme caution. Both the old lab and new lab times need to be in your summary box before submitting changes.
If you drop your lab without having a new lab time selected in your summary box, you will also be dropped for the lecture. Check the "Conditional Add/Drop" box before hitting submit on any changes to your schedule.
View this video tutorial for step-by-step instructions on how to change your lab, if needed.
Please contact sjuadvising@sju.edu if you want to change your major prior to the start of fall semester. We will assist you with major and schedule changes as needed.
If you have taken college level courses while in high school, you can complete this form to have them considered for transfer. Send your official transcript to admit@sju.edu.
Send your official grade reports for AP and IB credit. Consult the Transfer Credit Guide to see how your credit will be applied at SJU.
Even if you are concerned that your placement is too high, you should remain in the course level you are currently registered for. During the first week of class, faculty will continue to assess your background and skills in the language. If your professor recommends a level change, you will be able to add/drop courses during the first week of classes.
If you want to change your language selection, complete the language request form. If you previously studied the language you are changing to, you will need to also take a placement test if you have not already.
Language Exemption - Students who are bilingual are exempt from the language requirement. Students can submit a language request form to the Department of Languages & Linguistics to request an exemption.
Language Waiver - If you have a non-native language waiver, see the substitute classes for fall 2025 to take for your requirement.
