CMRL focuses on the electronic, optical, and magnetic properties of various materials including quantum materials for novel device applications. CMRL aims to understand the structure-property relationships in materials in order to design, discover, and deploy them for technological applications. Some of the research areas are listed below.
Two-dimensional (2D) materials
Solid electrolytes for solid-state battery
Mechanical Properties of Solids
Quantum materials and materials for quantum information science (QIS)
Ferroelectric and magnetic materials (Multiferroics)
Phase change materials such as shape memory alloys (SMA) and others.
Quantum chemistry and computational catalysis, molecular systems.
