Got something on your mind?
Are you ready to speak up for something you care about?
Let’s do it.
What does it mean to be equal?
Is equality enough?
Or do we actually need something else?
Let's start by watching this video on the difference between equality and equity -- an important difference to keep in mind as we work on this project.
Over the next few weeks, you will take a deep dive into the issue of your choice -- dress codes, school stress, homophobia, racism, bullying, immigration, isolation, drug use, sustainability, environmental concerns -- any social justice issue that matters to you.
You will work in groups to study your issue:
How did we get here?
Who benefits from the way things are now and why?
Who is hurt and why?
How can we make things better?
At the end of the project, your group will create a short graphic novel inspired by what you learn.
