ICE agents can be very persistent in trying to get you to talk. Don’t be intimidated and remember these:
Do NOT open the door unless you see a warrant signed by a judge with your name on it.
Agents may pretend to be local police.
Ask them to slide the warrant under the door or show it through a window.
You have the right to refuse a search without a judge signed warrant.
Stay silent - do not answer questions about immigration.
Do NOT show ID -unless it's a driver's license required by law in your state
Keep your doors locked - do not open or unlock them.
Ask for a judicial warrant - only warrants signed by a judge are valid.
ICE cannot search you without permission or a valid warrant. If they try, say; "I do not consent to this search.
Don't answer questions about immigration status or where you were born you have the right to remain silent.
Do NOT roll your window all the way down - just enough to talk and hear.
Ask: "Am I free to leave?"
If yes → walk away calmly.
If no → say, "! choose to remain silent" and ask for a lawyer.
