The purpose of this year-long course is to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students are exposed to four broad conceptual themes: Exploring Data: Describing patterns and departure from patterns, Sampling and Experimentation: Planning and conducting a study, Anticipating Patterns: Exploring random phenomena using probability and simulation, and Statistical Inference: Estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses. This course is for students intending to pursue a college degree in business, biology, mathematics, education, computer information, marketing and management, psychology or sociology.
This course is to be taken as preparation for the AP Statistics exam.
A fee is required for the AP exam.
