VBC Student Volunteer Application

We are looking for student volunteers to help out with the VBC!

• Job description : Group leader for ~7 kids

• Volunteer Date : Aug. 6-7 (Sat-Sun), 12:30-5:30 pm

• Eligibility : 6~12th grade (per 2021-2022 school year)

• Must attend all three mandatory training sessions

Mass Seating Map

We encourage students to attend the Sunday 9:30am mass seating at the front rows, so that they can be closer to altar and God.

Please note that this is not mandatory, so if you wish to have your child seat with the family, that is also fine.

Please do not cross the center hallway, especially during mass.

Stations of Cross - March 11

The Stations of the Cross prayer on March 11 will be held in English.

Return to In-Person Classes

Dear Faithbook friends and families,

The past two years have put all of us in strenuous situations, and we thank all the Faithbook students, parents and teachers for persevering under the difficult circumstances.

With various covid restrictions being eased, and the Diocese of San Jose Diocese lifting the dispensation of the Sunday obligations, Faithbook will resume in-person classes starting on March 27 (Sunday).

• Classes will start at 10:50am each Sunday at HKMCC

  • Kindergarten and 1st grade classes will end at 11:20am

  • 2nd~6th grade classes will end at 11:35am

• Safety of our students and volunteers is our top priority. Students and volunteers must submit either a proof of vaccination or Covid negative test result.

  • If you are fully vaccinated (at least two weeks after receiving the 2nd shot of a two doses vaccine or the single shot of a single dose vaccine), then please upload your proof of vaccination HERE by March 20.

  • Otherwise, you must bring a proof of a negative Covid test result to class on each Sunday (test result within 48 hours of the class). At-home Covid test kit results are accepted.

• All students and volunteers are required to wear a mask at all times while in class

• Snacks will be provided, but students will not be allowed to eat them while in the classroom. Rather, students should take the snacks back home.

Further details will be provided prior to the return-to-in-person classes.

Lent Book and Rice Bowl Pickup

Please pick up the Easter Lent Book and Rice Bowl after the 9:30am mass on 2/27 (Sun) in front of the Fellowship Hall (친교실).

For those who cannot make it on 2/27, the makeup pickup date is 3/6 (Sun) (after the 9:30am mass, in front of the Fellowship Hall).

You can also download the Easter Lent Book here. (But you do need to come pickup the Rice Bowl in person.)

Advent Calendar and Christmas Gift

Bring your Advent Calendar to the 9:30 am mass on either Dec. 25 (Saturday) or Dec. 26 (Sunday).

And get a Christmas gift from Santa Clause after the mass!

Sacrament of Reconciliation

With Advent starting, all parishioners should receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) before Christmas.

This includes all Faithbook students who have received the First Communion.

For the English speaking parishioners (including our Faithbook students), Fr. Phil Yang will be offering the sacrament after the 9:30 mass on 11/28, 12/5 and 12/19.

Fr. Jung will also be offering the sacraments during that time, but more for bilingual parishioners.

The sacrament is also offered during the following times by Fr. Ko and Fr. Jung.

• 12/7(Tue) ~ 17(Fri) week days, before and after the weekday mass

• 12/14(Tue): 7-9pm

• 12/17(Fri): 10am-noon, 7:30-9pm

Please note that there will be no Sacrament of Reconciliation service offered between Dec. 20 and Dec. 31, 2021.

The Month of the Rosary

October is the Month of the Rosary.

Please pray the Rosary once everyday during the month of October with your children using the Rosary booklet that was provided to you at the beginning of this Faithbook year.

• Come pickup your textbook and other materials for the year! (Drive through at HKMCC parking lot)

• Also, submit your check for Faithbook/LYF registration fee (if you have not paid online)

  • Don't forget to write the English name and grade of all students on the check
