Altera Infrastructure , a leading provider in the offshore industry known for being a solid pillar in realizing the power of TEAM in all operations, revisited SMET for another Cadet selection, specific for the TK and TKF Future Leaders Program โ Batch 3 Cadets on the 29th and 30th of October 2022.
Altera Shuttle Fleet dignitaries, Ms. Trine Oaland, Marine HR Director, and Mr. Regis Rougier, Vice President โ Operations of Altera, were received and accompanied by Teekay Training Officer, Mr. Ray Marticion from Butuan Airport to Saint Joseph Institute of Technology on the 29th of October.
Upon arriving at the academy, the TK &TKF Batch 3 Cadets welcomed the dignitaries, heeding valor and salutation. The first day of the interview comprised a two-phase program; the interview proper and a sailing activity in the afternoon.
Before the interview proper, Ms. Oaland and Mr. Rougier presented a company-specific discussion to the cadets; about what the company is all about and how is it going to make a sustainable future. Mr. Rougier stated the importance of people having complete trust onboard affects the work and the power of TEAM in realizing a safe operation. After a brief introduction to the company, SMET heads accompanied the guests for a tour inside the premises of the academy. Capt. Edric C. Aspilla, Maritime Academy Dean, headed the tour together with other academy personalities. Eight 2nd year Deck Cadets from the TK & TKF-FLP were interviewed in the afternoon with a 30-minute duration for each. A sailing activity then commenced at the shore of Cubi-Cubi near the Academy.
On the second day, the interview for the seven 2nd year Engine Cadets was conducted.
After the stringent interviews, cadets were given a debriefing by the esteemed guests from AI; the process of selection was also explained well briefly. Capt. Aspilla noted that the said selection was a signifying mark that the Academy has been continuously providing an awe-inspiring job in producing quality and competent cadets.
