Social Emotional Learning through Nature Journaling and the Virtues

Grade Span |  9-12

Workshop Description | Looking across many different cultures, languages, faiths, and world views, are several common virtues. These virtues name aspects of our being that allow us to pursue a path of change and action. Our world will need individuals with COURAGE and RESILIENCE as we bring forth environmental sustainability, social justice, and an understanding of our role in the community of life on our planet. Nature journaling is a tool to help us see the connections in nature and our connection to nature. This change in mindset towards our planet requires a change in how we see ourselves and each other. In this workshop, you will hear an introduction to the virtues and how you can incorporate social emotional learning lessons with nature journaling.
