A Prayer for the
Beginning of the School Year

As we look to the new school year is a great time for dreaming and planning.

Let us pray that our St Joachim’s educating community of children, parents and teachers can be a marvellous place of rich learning, belonging and that the values of the Gospel will help children learn and grow and to live a full and happy life.

Let us pray that our partnership will play a vital role in creating this educating community.

Mark 9: 36-37

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark.

Jesus took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”

The Gospel of the Lord.

Let us pray:

Dear Jesus, you are with us now.

Help us to recognise your presence in each other.

Help us to understand our importance in educating our children.

May this meeting of ours strengthen our friendship, build our community and increase our confidence in ourselves and in our school.

Amen.
