We have an all-school Mass each Thursday, as well as on Holy Days of Obligation that fall during the school week. Students have opportunities to participate through various liturgical ministries, and each House takes responsibility for providing liturgical ministers for one Mass per month. Solemnities often incorporate representatives from all four Houses.
Each Tuesday, we have an all-school "chapel" service. This assembly includes prayer and a reflection on Scripture. This service regularly incorporates praise music as well.
Our school chaplain, Fr. Brian Saylor, holds regular "office hours" which students may attend to talk confidentially or receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In addition, meetings/confessions are always available by appointment.
During Advent and Lent, we host a penance service. After a communal Examination of Conscience, students have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Priests are also available for students to chat with, even if they do not receive the sacrament.
Campus Ministry sponsors an all-school retreat as the year's Faith Pillar Day. This year's retreat will be held at Our Lady of Victory during Lent.
Every year, students and faculty from Saint Joseph's join a Central PA group at the March for Life in Washington, DC. The March for Life is a yearly peaceful demonstration on behalf of protections for the unborn and other pro-life causes.
Each summer, a group of Saint Joseph's students attends a youth conference at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Click here for more information about the conference.
