Remember that every week when you take your Monday mini-quiz, you will have the chance to redo any questions from the previous week's quiz that you missed. Make sure to study last week's quiz!
Currently, we're preparing for Science Fair and finishing our first main topic in our study of Engineering. Soon, we'll move on to a more in-depth exploration of how the Engineering Process and the Scientific Method compare.
Coming soon: instructions for your end-of-section research project on the ways engineering has affected and is affected by science, society, and the environment!
If you check your Science grade on PowerSchool, you might be unpleasantly surprised by what you find. This is because I am missing quite a lot of work from quite a few of you. As early as we are in the semester, you haven't had that many assignments yet -- missing half of them is a big deal!
If you have not yet submitted your Weather Questions or your Science Fair Ideas, do so NOW. They will lose points for being extremely late, but that's better than getting a 0. You can do those right in Google Classroom.
If you have a 0 for your Weather Log, that means I haven't seen it yet. Whether you did it on paper or on the spreadsheet, SHOW ME. If you did it on paper, I will also ask you to put it into the spreadsheet so we can do data analysis later.
Some of you have gotten comments back on your Science Fair Safety Quizzes, and more of you will receive those soon. Please don't be discouraged if you got a low score! Make sure to click the link in your email to let you review your answers -- I left extensive comments on anything you may have gotten wrong to help you figure out the right answers, so you can retake it for that 100%.
If you have not yet taken your Science Fair Safety Quiz for the first time, do it now.
If you see a 0 in PowerSchool for your Weather Log analysis (these were the questions we worked on with partners during class that then became homework) even though you thought you submitted it, it's because you clicked 'submit' in Google Classroom but didn't actually attach/include the document. You can email it to me directly if it's easier.
A low grade right now is not a cause to panic, but you need to start getting your work in as soon as possible, and in the future remember to get your work in ON TIME. Homework is not optional! Doing your homework but never turning it in to me does not actually get you any points.
Currently we are working on understanding weather and preparing for the Science Fair!
Recent and upcoming homework due dates:
1st week of data due on Weather Logs: 9/8
Weather Log analysis: 9/10
Weather questions: 9/11
Science Fair Ideas: 9/16
Science Fair Safety Quiz (at least the first try): 9/16
Research Review: 9/24
