6th grade is currently studying:

RELIGION

What are the original building blocks of our faith?  Who wrote the Bible, and what does it tell us about where we come from, and how we should live our lives?

We're engaging with scripture by discussing our weekly Mass readings as we dive in to understanding exactly how the Bible tells stories, and what we're meant to learn from them.  Recently we've been discussing God's call to stewardship and what it means in our lives.

We also have a great time doing acts of stewardship for and with our 1st-grade buddies!

READING

A Long Way From Chicago, our summer reading book, is helping us learn about reading comprehension, finding textual evidence, and what life was like in the Great Depression.

Remember that our weekly vocabulary quizzes are held every Tuesday.  Make sure to go through those flash cards!

Our September independent reading projects are well on their way!  We look forward to seeing our final projects soon.

SCIENCE

What is force?  How do pushes and pulls affect how things move?  How do forces balance, and what happens when they don't?

What is science?  How do we ask questions, and what tools do we have to find answers?

We will soon begin our first introduction to Science Fair!  Until then, we'll continue working on our study of forces and movement.
