Virtual Learning Philosophy
St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju (SJA Jeju) is proud to deliver our high-quality education under exceptional circumstances that may require partial or full campus closure. In such circumstances, our commitment is to provide an alternative means of education in the form of virtual learning. Virtual learning entails the experience students will have when school remains in session but when students are unable to physically attend school because of campus closure. While virtual learning cannot replicate onsite learning, our teachers can deliver powerful instruction that allows students to meet expected standards in an online environment.
The SJA Jeju virtual learning experience aligns with our SJA Jeju Learning Principles. Our students will be empowered to make choices and be part of inquiry-based learning experiences; be part of an [online] community with their teachers and peers that involves collaboration and authentic problem solving; continue to build each child’s unique character by encouraging them to be passionate learners, intrinsically motivated, and inspired to action.
The success of our virtual learning endeavor is a partnership and is dependent on careful planning by our dedicated faculty, appropriate student motivation and engagement, and strong parent support for this alternative mode of instruction. The result of such an approach will expand student academic progress and attend to student social and emotional well-being.

Class Schedule
Class Schedule
All classes will take place as regularly scheduled at their designated times in PowerSchool. However, rather than happening on campus, all teachers will be teaching online via Google Classroom.
所有课程将继续按照PowerSchool上的原定时间进行授课。唯一不同的是授课形式由原来的来校上课改为老师通过Google Classroom(谷歌教室)网上教学。

Attendance
Attendance will be taken during each class period and then logged in to PowerSchool. Students are required to join the Google Meet link, within a few minutes of the class starting in order to be marked "present". All teachers will post the Google Meet links within the Google Classroom online.
老师每节课都会通过PowerSchool对学生进行考勤。在课程开始的几分钟之内，学生需要加入“Google Meet ”链接，才能被标记为“出席”。所有老师都会在Google Classroom(谷歌教室)发布加入谷歌会议群的链接，学生在每节课上课前及时关注并加入即可。

Daily Assignments
Each course every day will have an assignment that must be completed. The completion of this homework/quiz assignment also plays a key role in the student's attendance for that course. All students are required to complete all assignments in order to not fall behind in class, to not be marked "absent" and to maintain their grades. Students who choose not to attend classes or complete assignments this week will be marked absent and will receive zeros.
每门课程每天都会布置一个必须完成的作业，是否完成这项作业/小测在学生本门课程的考勤中也将发挥重要作用。为了确保学生在学习中不掉队，不被视为“缺席”，同时也保持学习成绩不下降，我们要求全体学生必须完成每天布置的作业。对于本周选择不参加网上授课或者不完成作业的学生，我们将给予“缺席”以及作业零分处理。
모든 수업에는 수업 중에 완성해야 하는 과제들이 발생합니다. 주어진 과제/퀴즈의 완성도가 해당 수업의 학생 출결 여부에 중요한 영향을 미치게 됩니다. 모든 학생들은 수업에 뒤쳐지지 않기 위해, 결석 처리 되지 않기 위해, 그리고 성적을 유지하기 위해 수업 중 주어진 과제를 완성해야만 합니다. 이번 주 수업에 참석하지 않거나 과제를 완성하지 않는 학생들은 결석으로 간주되며 해당 과제는 0점 처리됩니다.

Students with any questions about a particular course, assignment, attendance or assessment must ask their classroom teacher directly. All faculty members will be available online during conference period (15h05-15h30) as well as periodically throughout the day - via Gmail and/or Google Hangouts. Communication is key this week and strongly encouraged between students and teachers.
学生有任何关于课程、作业、考勤以及评估方面的问题，请务必直接与相关课程老师联系。全体老师将全天在线，直到下午4:00，学生可以通过邮件或Google Hangouts与老师取得联系。师生之间的交流至关重要，我们鼓励老师和学生保持密切的沟通。

Academies
As school is in session between 0840 and 1505, student attendance is mandatory. Students should not be attending Hak-won during school hours.
因为学校网上授课时间为0840到1505，所以全体学生必须按时参加授课。学生不应该在授课时间内去补习班上课。
