Digital Learning & Tools:

As a Teacher Librarian, amplifying teaching and learning with digital tools is my JAM! One silver lining of the COVID-19 pandemic is that most learning communities increased their capacity to reach beyond the confines of their immediate classroom walls with tech tools. The go-to tools I use on a regular basis (that are PERFECT for globalized curriculum and collaboration) are: Pear Deck, Flipgrid (now Microsoft Flip), Padlet, and Canva. I teach staff professional development on a regular basis, and I focus on schoolwide literacies + educational technology tools. Scroll to the right of the Padlet, and you can access resource links for each topic or tool as well as recordings of literacy or EdTech PD session below.

Virtual Field Trips and Learning Experiences:

One of the many ways in which I connect Siuslaw School District to our community and the outside world is through regular virtual field trips. They are the highlight of my week! I love being the conduit between classroom teachers and community partners for authentic service-learning projects for our students. I've presented locally and nationally about virtual field trips, and you can find a Padlet of my presentations, resources, and trips below.
