Homework for the participants

Three, two, one...action!

The topic of the meeting in Sitges will be CINEMA. Sitges has got one of the most important Film Festivals in our country and our town is a film set for hundreds of films and advertisements every year.

The homework to bring to Sitges will be:

1.-Each group will have to choose a movie that is representative of its country because of the setting and landscape, the plot or the historic period that it shows.

The students will have to choose a short sequence of this movie to be shown in Sitges to the other groups during the presentations. This sequence must be short, no more than 3-5 minutes. A short presentation of the film is needed (title, filmmaker, year of production and reasons why the film was choosen)

2.-The meeting in Sitges will be connected with the old people's home in our town. This is why we want your students to interview elderly people to know about the importance of cinema in the past. It is enough with one interview from each country. This interview can be recorded.

The questions can be:

How many cinemas were there in your town?

Which were the most popular films, stars, topics and plots?

How much was a cinema ticket?

Was going to the cinema a social event? Why?

3.-This is the beginning of a new project so we need a new logo to represent it! Each country can design a logo for the TEACH project at home and bring it to Sitges where we will vote the best one.

Exemple: Every school had to do an interviwe to some older person and we could compare the similiarities and differences.
