Classroom Organization & Cleaning
All students are expected to assist in cleaning the choir room and other duties, such as passing out & collecting papers, filing, and organizing the chairs.
Uniforms
The 5th & 6th grade choirs will supply their own black polo shirt (tucked in), black dress pants, and black shoes & socks. A knee-length black skirt and black tights may be worn instead of pants if a student wishes. This attire will be used throughout the year.
The 7th & 8th grade choirs will wear semi-formal attire (shirts/ties and dresses) supplied through the choral department for most performances. Students will be fitted for these outfits at the beginning of the year. It is each student’s responsibility to either machine wash or professionally dry clean these items and return them at the end of the year. Replacement fees or cleaning fees will be assessed for all damaged, lost, or uncleaned items. Students will need to supply their own black dress shoes and long black socks.
Supplies
Students should have their choir folder w/ music, pencil, and computer with them every day! We make markings in the music often, and it is impossible to remember them all without writing them down. All students will be supplied with a folder, pencil, and sheet music for use during class. Finally, although not required, Mr. Kistner will do somersaults and other amazing tricks for anyone who brings him a box of Kleenex.
Canvas & zwmschoirs.org
Zionsville's Learning Management System (LMS) is Canvas. Students will use Canvas to complete many assignments, take assessments, and to communicate with Mr. Kistner and Mr. Lewis. Canvas and www.zwmschoirs.org (this site) are both intended to help you find information about choir!
