The First Slice
Below are the test chambers from PortalZ: The First Slice., the 2009 PortalZ beta prevew.
To play The First Slice:
Download the necessary materials and sounds.
Save all the BSP files and the BNS file below to one of these locations:
Windows: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\portal\portal\maps
MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/portal/portal/maps
(On Windows 64-bit, replace “Program Files” with “Program Files (x86)”. On older versions of Steam, replace “common” with your Steam username.)
Launch Portal.
Select “Bonus Maps”.
Select PortalZ: The First Slice.
(You can also open a specific chamberfrom the developer console by running "map z_demo_chamber_#", where "#" is the number of the chamber.)
Alternatively, you can download PortalZ: The First Slice from one of these external sites as a ZIP file and follow the included instructions:

Known issues in The First Slice:
Lighting is incomplete, missing, or may break in some chambers.
The door models in test chamber 10 sometimes disappear. The doors are there, but will be completely white.
Chamber 05 is glitchy. This is probably because Portal is not designed to do what I am trying to make it do the way I am trying to make it do it.
(Note from the future: This version of chamber 05 ended up being cut entirely, so feel free to just skip it.)
