Pastor Call Process

Post date: Feb 28, 2017 2:34:05 AM

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, February 22, 2017

It is my great pleasure to announce that Pastor Elizabeth Boesen has been offered a part time call position at St. John’s/Zion Lutheran churches contingent upon a successful (2/3) two-thirds-plusmajority vote by each congregation. The church councils of both churches have met with Pastor Boesen and after an interview and discussion with her, both councils voted unanimously to move on to the final step.

Therefore we are announcing the following important event to allow members of both congregations to meet her in an informal setting. There will be a “meet and greet” session at St. John’s Lutheran at 514 East Swamp Road, Penn Yan, NY, from 5:00-7:00p.m. March 18th, 2017. There will be light refreshments served and members are encouraged to drop in and introduce themselves to Pastor Boesen and discuss any concerns or questions they may have.

The following day, Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Zion Lutheran on Snell Road in Geneva at the 10:00 service Pastor Boesen will be guest Pastor and conduct our worship service. Immediately following there will be a vote by both congregations seeking approval to call Pastor Boesen as our new part-time pastor. Part-time being twenty-two hours per week. It is important that both congregations have a quorum of members present to vote. Both councils strongly encourage members to take advantage of the “meet and greet” and to plan on attending church at Zion Lutheran on the 19th of March at 10:00. We would like as much participation as possible.

We look forward to moving into the future with God’s help and her leadership and view this as another step in our journey together into a brighter tomorrow. Please plan on attending both events.

Yours in Christ,

Randy Eddinger – St. John’s Council President

Rick Klein – Zion Lutheran Council President
