Dr. Zhenhua Chen is an assistant professor of accounting at Louisiana State University. Prior to joining LSU, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Duke University, Tulane University, and the University of San Diego.
Dr. Chen’s research focuses on how economic, behavioral, regulatory, and political factors shape market participants’ decision-making. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals, including Accounting, Organizations, and Society, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, and European Accounting Review. His research has been covered by major media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and Forbes and has been presented at prominent institutions, including Duke, MIT, Northwestern, NYU, Yale, and the University of Southern California. His research has also been featured at major conferences such as the AAA and AFA Annual Meetings, Duke/UNC Accounting Fall Camp, MIT Asia Accounting Conference, and Texas Lone Star Accounting Conference, as well as in discussions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
An award-winning educator, Dr. Chen is committed to fostering student success and engagement both in and out of the classroom. His innovative teaching methods have been recognized with the Ourso College of Business Teaching Award for Excellence. As co-advisor for LSU’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary organization for accounting students, he is dedicated to enhancing students' career readiness and professional development.
Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is an active member of the American Accounting Association and American Finance Association.
