JUNEAU — After a thorough investigation the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department has issued 18 citations for disorderly conduct for a fight between teenagers that occurred at the Dodge County Fair.
A total of 11 females ages 13-17 and seven males ages 14-17 from Beaver Dam, Horicon, Mayville, Burnett and Juneau were involved in the incident.
According to reports, the fight ensued due to name calling and initially involved five girls. The other girls became involved when a lemonade cup was smashed over one of the girl’s head which led to another girl getting thrown down to the ground, being kicked and punched.
After interviewing the boys involved in the incident they indicated they did not seek out assistance or call 911. They stated they thought someone else would call and that they didn’t have to. One of the boys stated he wanted to stay and admitted to encouraging the fight, hoping one of the girls would get assaulted because he did not like her.
Sheriff Patri…..cia Ninmann reiterated that the behavior is unacceptable, the actions of the 18 teenagers were not conducive to the family environment that is expected while attending the Dodge County Fair and the citations issued are a result of their actions.
