I am an experimental cognitive psychologist interested in language processing. I use methods of cognitive neuroscience and experimental psychology to investigate the mechanisms underlying single word reading and sentence reading. I obtained my PhD degree under the supervision of Dr. Walter van Heuven and Dr. Ruth Filik (University of Nottingham, UK). My PhD project focuses on bilingual word recognition, which used both behavioural and ERP measures to examine cross-language activation between Chinese and English. After graduating in 2017, I became a post-doc at the Aix-Marseille University/Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (France), where I worked with Dr. Jonathan Grainger on an ERC project focusing on skilled adult reading. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Linguistics, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
