Below is a checklist of everything we need members to complete prior to beginning their year of service. All of these steps need to be completed between our Pre-Service Orientation and your last day of initial training.
PRE-SERVICE ORIENTATION:
Copies & Signing of Documents
Individuals who have accepted the offer to become a member will have the following completed during Pre-Service Orientation and initial training. For individuals who miss Pre-Service Orientation or who do not turn in these documents, they are due by the last day of initial training.
*COPIES*:
Part of enrolling in our program is submitting documents that AmeriCorps staff can verify:
Birth certificate/passport
Social Security Card
Driver's license or state identification card
Most recent transcript/diploma
Signed offer letter
Resume AND cover letter
DOCUMENTS SIGNED
Provided by YW AmeriCorps staff before service term begins:
Staff will send via DocuSign during Orientation. Complete these as soon as you receive the email from staff:

Background Check
Individuals who have accepted the offer to become a member will have to complete a background screening in accordance with National Service Criminal History Check compliance. Members must:
-Complete Background Check Consent form sent by staff
-Complete background screening online through Truescreen
-Schedule appointment and complete fingerprinting process through Fieldprint
-Both Truescreen and Fieldprint must be initiated before member can begin service with the program.

ONLINE INFORMATION:
You may hear YW AmeriCorps staff refer to this site as the "Portal." This is where you enroll and exit as an AmeriCorps member, and is part of how you will access your education award and manage forbearance.

Part of our annual reporting process includes members completing PRE- and POST- service year surveys, which helps us to report on our Performance Measures.
