Time management is one of the most important aspects of your AmeriCorps year. Time management helps you as a member know that you are on track to a successful completion of your service year. It also helps us record and convey the important services and positive impact that members are making throughout our community.
Without quality time management and reporting, the Building Communities, Bettering Lives program wouldn't be as strong or be allowed to continue despite its powerful impact and presence in our community.
Below you'll see the different types of time management and reporting systems and why each is necessary.
DAILY & WEEKLY REPORTING SYSTEMS
Every day you will document your service with AmeriCorps, and this happens through two (or more, depending on your service site) different systems. For our purposes, the two that members need to keep up with are: Netchex and OnCorps.
Each day members should clock in and out for the day as well as for lunch via Netchex. Each Monday, members should submit their OnCorps timesheets for the previous week's service. Their supervisors will then review timesheets each Wednesday.
These two systems help us to prove the time you served and the meaningful service provided.
See below for more details on Netchex and OnCorps.
TIME MANAGEMENT TOOLS
Members are asked to regularly update their Plans of Completion and Hours Trackers in an effort to track their progress towards their hours goals (1720 for full-time members, 1220 for three quarters time members, and 920 for half-time members). Staff will request these documents to help members with these goals.

PayCom
PayCom is the online payroll system used by the YWCA Central Alabama. PayCom is important for AmeriCorps members because it acts as a way to verify hours documented on service logs, and is also the way the YWCA justifies living allowance payments to members (how members get their living allowance each month!). Click the link above to access PayCom.
** How to add punches/make corrections:
Go to your home screen in Paycom.
Click "Time Management"
Click "Web Time Clock"
Request new punch
On Computer: Click "Request New Punch"
On the App: Click the blue "+" in the lower right-hand corner
**Timesheet reviews and punch requests are due by Monday at 9am.**
OnCorps is an online reporting system for all AmeriCorps programs in Alabama. The system is used by members to record service hours, and by supervisors to verify those hours served.
Members: For member instructions and information on how to use OnCorps, please watch the following videos and review the documents for reference.

Outside Service Policy and Process
Outside service is a great way to accrue extra hours while serving your community in different capacities and increasing your network! Remember, outside service cannot be done during normal business hours and it must be pre-approved by both AmeriCorps staff and your supervisor. Review the policy above and use the following forms to get your service approved and track your time:
