Score the most points within 30 second rounds during various games such as Basketball, Dodgeball, Tug Of War, Ultimate Frisbee. You choose the games to be played (Try to pick games that are easy to setup quickly). Pick who will play each round first so it is a surprise to the players for what game is played. Then the game leader draws the game to be played from a hat. Game helpers quickly setup the game, and then you start the 30 second timer. Teams will get points when they score. Once round is over regardless of if anyone scores, quickly move on to the next round choosing a new group of players, and game from the hat (place all games back in the hat).
All Play, bag of 9 m&m’s per student in zip lock bag prepared ahead of time. Designated taggers run around and tag the students. If they are tagged, they need to sit down. Eat an m&m and then get back into play. If you are out of your 9 lives, you become a tagger and need to go to the side line and grab a pinny / ribbon to designate you as a tagger. As the game continues it gets harder and harder as their will be more and more taggers. The last student still alive wins.
For shorter games, give students less m&m’s in each bag.
Dodge ball style game with Helium balloons weighted down sitting on top of tall boxes or boxes on tables, first to knock the balloons onto the ground and off the boxes wins.
Random Items put in the center of the gym. Two teams, one on each side. Kids need to run and grab as many items as possible to gain points. Items include – Tug of war rope, clothes, shoes, and other strange things. Try to include a person in the middle as a random item.
Played like hockey, but with broom ball sticks and mini nerf balls.
Like the game in Cranium, one person copycats someone famous or well known, and acts, and talks like them without saying people or places. Team with the most points wins. (Use cell phones to text the winner) First to text in, is the winner of that round.)
Couch in the middle, students are split into 2 teams and race to get as many students as possible on the couch as possible (properly) or not if you choose. Tons of fun!
Teams need to get to the other side the fastest by different modes of transportation such as they may need to skip, jump, crawl, roll etc… across the room. The teams will end up bottle necking in the middle as they try to get around each other while crossing paths.
Duct tape one kid per team to the wall while they are standing on a chair. The kid that stays on the wall the longest after removing the chair they are standing on is the winner.
Two or more teams: each player gets two Flags tucked in on the left and right side of their pants or pockets. Kids run around trying to knock the other team out by pulling their flags off. Both flags need to be removed to get someone out. Players that lose both flags must sit in place, however from a sitting or kneeling position and without moving around may attempt to pull off unsuspecting players flags until their is only one team left.
Two teams, each player gets two Flags of their team color tucked in on the left and right side of their pants or pockets. Kids run around trying to knock the other team out by pulling their flags off. Both flags need to be removed to get someone out. Players that lose both flags become a zombie and grabs a single flag of the specified color for Zombie's and joins back in. This becomes a challenge of defending against the opposing team, and then the new threat that continues to multiply. See if your team can survive the zombie apocalypse.
Choose one student per team. Students throw / fling frozen French fries to their teammate. Their teammate needs to catch as many as possible without crossing the boundaries.
Students compete by throwing Frisbees into the center of the gym / playing space attempting to score the most points by hitting the ring target on the floor with a bullseye in the middle. The closer they get to the bullseye, the more points they will score.
Teams pick a Guesser for each round. The Guesser stands at an elevated position such as a chair in the middle of the playing area facing towards their team and opposite to the opposing team. On GO, each team will either act out the word, shape themselves into the word, or a combination of both in an attempt to get their teammate to guess correctly. Student that guesses correctly first wins!
Students separate into two teams, and go under a limbo stick or if your room has a divider that can be lowered down from the ceiling. Teams go at the same time. Team with players left, wins.
Students line up by grade behind a table with a bowl of m&ms, and when the video starts, they can only eat the color of m&m on screen. When it says “Switch Players”, they need to switch players quickly and the game continues.

Shield protects from any effect if sitting on it.
Teams are given a list of different types of pictures to be taken with their teams, and race around inside and outside as fast as they can. Their leader will take the pictures for their team. First team to finish wins. For additional fun if you have time and have the setup to do so, you could show the winning pictures up on a TV or Big Screen for everyone to see. This game works as a great end of year game with the students and their leaders, great for memories.
Relay race using skateboards and toilet plungers (clean and new of course). Make sure they are heavy duty ones as well, cheap ones do not work well, it is hard to propel yourself if they are too flimsy.
Call out a random item. Team that brings the item that you call first wins points for their team. Examples: $20 Bill, comb, getting their mom or dad on someone’s cell phone etc…
Each team will get a list of the Pictionary ideas in the SAME ORDER. Teams will send a teammate to the middle to get the first Pictionary idea to draw from the Game Leader. On GO, drawers will run back to their teams and start drawing. If a team guesses correctly, they will as quickly as possible send their next player to get the next word on their list. Each team gets a FREE PASS to use for skipping a word once during the game, and cannot be used on the final word.
Each player from each team takes a shoe off and places it in a Bin. The bin full of shoes is then dumped at the far end of the playing area. First team to find and get their shoes back on is the winner. Play different rounds such as 5 girls from each team, 5 guys from each team, 1 adult leader and 5 students etc...
Each team gets a color of balloon and a string. The balloons are tied to their ankle. When the game starts, they need to pop the other team’s balloons while keeping theirs and their teammate’s balloons safe. As the game progresses, the boundaries are cut in half every few minutes to keep the momentum of the game. Players who get STOMPED go to the sideline, but are able to attempt to STOMP other player’s balloons by taking one step in from the boundary line. Great Game to start the school year off, very fun and high energy.
