The 2026 York & District League Tournament will be held on Sunday 26th January at the Railway Institute, Queen Street, York.
Details as follows:
Cost of entry is £10 per player, per competition.
The tournament is open to any paid-up member of the 13 clubs within the 2025-26 York & District League.
The tournament comprises 2 sessions: Open Doubles and Ladies Doubles competition running concurrently in the morning, and a Mixed Doubles competition in the afternoon. Start time: 9.30am - finishing time: 5.30pm. There will be a break between the 2 sessions for trophy presentations and to allow some time for lunch.
The tournament's primary aim is to maximise player participation, not to work on a knock-out basis. Every player should therefore play the same number of games, except for the 2 leading pairs, who will have an additional final game to determine the League winners for that respective competition.
Pairs will be playing in a round-robin format and their first-round results will dictate who they play in rounds 2 & 3 (and possibly more). All games will be to 21 points with no setting. If we have excessively high numbers of players in a competition, games will be played to 15 points.
This is a feathers tournament.
The League will provide trophies for all 3 winning pairs.
No refunds will be issued for any player that withdraws from the competition or does not turn up on the day.

A: Please email York and District Badminton League with your partners name.
Q: I have entered the Open or Ladies competition & now want to enter the Mixed competition as well. Should I complete the form again?
A: Please complete the entry form but only enter the Mixed competition ie select 'no' when asked if you want to enter the Open & Ladies competitions. This will ensure your level doubles entry is not duplicated.
Q: I have entered the Mixed competition & now want to enter the Open or Ladies competition as well. Should I complete the form again?
A: Please complete the entry form but only enter the Open & Ladies competition ie select 'no' when asked if you want to enter the Mixed competition. This will ensure your mixed entry is not duplicated.
Q: I am now no longer able to participate in the tournament.
A: Please email York and District Badminton League to confirm your withdrawal from the competition(s).
