About Me:

I received the B.Eng. degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Zhejiang University (ZJU), Hangzhou, China, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, in 2017. I also participated the 1st IEEE ComSoc Summer School held in Trento, Italy, in July 2015.

I am currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). From 2020 to January 2025, I was a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Before joining PolyU, I was a Senior Researcher at the Theory Lab, 2012 Labs, Huawei Tech. Investment Co. Ltd. (2019-2020) and a Lead Engineer at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) (2017-2019).

I am on the Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, and HKIE Transactions.

I am always looking for self-motivated postgraduate students and visiting scholars working on a related area of Federated Learning, Edge AI, Task-oriented / Semantic Communications, Wireless Sensing (Algorithm and Prototype Developments) and Machine Learning for Wireless Communications. - For master students, candidates should have been admitted to / are currently studying in a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programs under Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE) of MUST, including but not limited to M.Sc. in Information Technology (通訊工程、計算機與資訊系統) and M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics & Data Science. Candidates are expected to work in my group on their thesis research for 1.5~2 years. Preference will be given to students with keen interest in pursuing a Ph.D. degree.
