I am an applied microeconomist with a focus on the economics of education and labor economics. My work is primarily concerned with understanding the causes and consequences of educational inequality, and evaluating policies’ effectiveness in bridging existing disparities. A recent strand of research at the intersection of education policy, governance, and local politics examines the effect that district leadership, teachers’ unions, and school boards have on educational outcomes.

Currently I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Education Policy Analysis at Stanford University.
