YAFMC Members Code of Conduct
PURPOSE
The Purpose of this Code is to provide members with guidance on the standards of behaviour that
are expected of them while they are representing the club, participating in club activities or events,
whether on club premises or private property. This is to support club goals and maintenance of our
reputation, while ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all.
COMMITMENT
Abiding by the code demonstrates the shared commitment by the club committee, and its members,
in working together in achieving our club goals of preserving, restoring, educating as well as
promoting a sense of community within our membership and the broader community.
AUTHORITY
The authority of the code is vested in our constitution. In the event of an inconsistency, provisions
contained in the constitution take precedence over this code.
PRINCIPLES
Membership and participation in club activities is a privilege to be cherished and safeguarded.
Accordingly, members shall:
Act as custodians of the Club, its values, its property and reputation, and agree to abide by the principles described in this code of conduct.
Respect the right of others to enjoy club participation to the fullest extent.
Interact with each other in a courteous manner.
Refrain from behaviours that undermine the health and wellbeing of other members.
Maintain collaborative and respectful relationships with the owners of private property, when using private property for club purposes.
Respect property owner’s rights and their property, follow any rules or guidelines set forth by the property owner and act in a responsible manner while using private property.
Show due consideration to the needs of others, including their right to privacy.
Comply with club policies, and directions of the committee.
Maintain individual membership and insurance coverage as applicable.
Ensure children are supervised by a responsible adult whilst participating in club activities or events.
Abide by the guidelines described in the National Historic Machinery Associations Rally Handbook and Safety Management system.
Not bring or have in their possession illegal materials while participating in club activities or events.
Handle property donated to the club in line with club policies.
Handle property belonging to the club with care and diligence.
Refrain from representing the club, unless properly authorised to do so.
Do not deliberately tarnish the reputation of the club or bring it into disrepute.
APPLICATION
The code applies to all club members..
COMPLIANCE
If a breach occurs and can be proven, the club will initiate action as described in the constitution,
which may include warnings, withdrawal if certain privileges, and suspension or termination of
membership (if applicable).
