 The club registrars maintain the club's register of vehicles and are responsible to

ensure that the club complies with NSW Historic Vehicle Scheme (HSV) requirements.

Safety inspectors/scrutineers are responsible to:

• complete a safety inspection of the vehicle being registered and declare that it is safe to operate.

•  are responsible to ensure that the club safety inspection form and Historic Vehicle

• Declaration are signed.

•  advise members of repairs or work needed to bring the vehicle into a safe condition.

•  advise the registrars that an inspection has occurred and the outcome.

Stamping the Historic Vehicle Declaration form with the club stamp is a confirmation that

the person seeking to register a vehicle under the HVS is a current club member and

eligible to have their vehicle registered with our club.

Members applying for registration of their vehicle under the HVS are responsible to:

• If the vehicle in question is within the registration renewal window, provide a copy of

the registration renewal documentation

• Seek to have your vehicle presented for inspection with sufficient time so that

inspectors/scrutineers are not being pressured by time

• Acknowledge that inspectors/scrutineers are volunteering their time

•  Acknowledge that inspectors/scrutineers are under no obligation sign vehicles off as safe

•  Ensure that the vehicle in question meets the requirements to be registered under the HVS

•  Present the vehicle in question to the inspector/scrutineer in a safe condition

•  Provide both the club inspection and the Service NSW declaration forms. 

(Forms should already have personal and vehicle details filled in ready for the

inspector/scrutineer to do their part)

•  Processing the forms through Service NSW (was RMS, RTA etc)

•  Once the vehicle registration has been processed:

1. Obtain Third Party Property Insurance (if applicable)

2. Advise the Club registrars that the vehicle has been registered and insured as required.
