Society for the study of the flora of the Yaroslavl oblast is a non-profit organization that exists on private funds. The society is named of a public personality of the Yaroslavl oblast in late XIX – early XX century, Ivan N. Garin.
The main goal of the Society: inventory and monitoring of flora of the Yaroslavl oblast.
The company sets itself the following objectives:
- inventory of flora of specially protected natural areas, and urban parks;
- monitoring the distribution of rare and endangered plant species;
- monitoring the spread of invasive plant species, including dangerous invasive species;
- preparation and publication of floristic lists in the studied areas;
- creation of herbarium collections of the flora of the study area.
