About me

I'm a Juan de la Cierva researcher at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and a member of the ICMAT.

I received my degree in mathematics at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Then I moved to Barcelona and in July 2010, I finished my PhD in mathematics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. After obtained my PhD, I was a post-doctoral researcher for two years at the University of Southampon, for six months at the University of Neuchâtel and then NTT assistant professor  at Vanderbilt University.

We will be running a seminar in the UAM/ICMAT, please contact me if you want to give a talk. Here is a tentative list of talks.

We are organizing a thematic program on L^2-invariants at the ICMAT from February to June 2018.

My research area in mathematics is geometric and combinatorial group theory. I study countable groups with some sort of non-positively curved behavior, like acylindrically hyperbolic groups, one-relator groups or graph products. Some of my recent research concern the connection between formal languages and group theory.
