ECON 0100: Introduction to Microeconomic Theory

Course Overview: ECON 0100 is an introductory course in microeconomic theory for students with minimum economics background. Microeconomics investigates how individual agents, such as consumers, households and firms, make (rational) decisions. The aim of this course is to introduce the student to the fundamental concepts in microeconomics and the basic tools economists use to analyze individual decision-making and how these individual choices interact in markets to determine the outcomes of the economy.   • Analyze simple real-life economic situations using the tools introduced in the course.
  • Develop a better understanding of the role of economics in operation of the society.
